ACTRA Awards Presentation

This year marks the centenary of the production of “Evangeline” the first feature-length dramatic movie filmed in Canada, which was shot here in Nova Scotia.

ACTRA Maritimes is hosting a reception for members on Saturday, October 5th from 8:00pm to Midnight in the Small Craft Gallery of the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic to celebrate the beginning of the second century of Maritime Canadian moving picture production.

We will be celebrating this momentous anniversary with key representatives of the local industry. ACTRA Maritimes will also have the pleasure of hosting our National Executive, which will be in Halifax for meetings. A keynote welcome address will be given by ACTRA National President, Ferne Downey who is also the first North American to be elected President of FIA (International Federation of Actors).

We will also be presenting the ACTRA Maritimes Awards recognizing our members outstanding work over the last year.

The Daniel Matto Quartet will be providing musical entertainment and the cash bar will feature wines and craft beer from Nova Scotia. Hot and cold hors d’oeuvres will also be served.

This Event Replaces our Holiday Party in December.

Members please RSVP to Reception Invitation so we know how much food and beverage to order.
